Analysis of ALPS treated water as third-party
The third-party analysis is conducted along the following flow.
・ Sampling of ALPS treated water
・ Analysis at the Radioactive Material Analyses and Research Facility Laboratory-1 in the Okuma Analysis and Research Center
・ Reporting and publication of the analysis results to the government (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry)
Latest results for the third-party analysis of ALPS treated water
NEWAnalysis results of the ALPS treated water collected from the K4-B tank group at September 4, 2024, 8:29 JST as follows:
● The confirmation that nuclides other than tritium have been purified below the regulatory limit by ALPS treatment.
The sum of ratios to the regulatory concentrations limits of nuclides other than tritium (30 nuclides*1) was 0.084 (less than 1), confirming that regulatory standard is satisfied.
For the other 38 nuclides*2, all targeted nuclides were confirmed not to significantly present.
● The confirmation of tritium concentration in ALPS treated water
Tritium concentration was confirmed to be 310,000 Bq/L*3
*1:The nuclides that are selected by TEPCO HD based on the flow defined in the implementation plan and should be confirmed to satisfy the discharge standard (below regulatory standards).
(Cd-113m was added from the 8th batch.)
*2:From the view point of preventing the adverse impacts on reputation, the nuclides which voluntarily confirmed by TEPCO HD not to significantly present in ALPS-treated water.
(Cd-113m was removed from the 8th batch.)
*3:Dilute more than 100 times with seawater, so that the tritium concentration after seawater dilution is less than the maximum tritium concentration, 1,500 Bq/L.

Analysis results of the ALPS treated water collected from the K4-A tank group at July 26, 2024, 8:10 JST as follows:
● The confirmation that nuclides other than tritium have been purified below the regulatory limit by ALPS treatment.
The sum of ratios to the regulatory concentrations limits of nuclides other than tritium (30 nuclides*1) was 0.064 (less than 1), confirming that regulatory standard is satisfied.
For the other 38 nuclides*2, all targeted nuclides were confirmed not to significantly present.
● The confirmation of tritium concentration in ALPS treated water
Tritium concentration was confirmed to be 280,000 Bq/L*3
