ＱWhat are the initiatives for third-party analysis of ALPS treated water by JAEA under the national policy?

ＡBased on the Report on the Interim Measures for the Handling of ALPS treated water* anounced by the government, JAEA is conducting analysis from a third party standpoint independent of Tokyo Electric Power Company HD (third-party analysis) fot the purpose of highly objective and transparent measurement of radioactive materials in ALPS treated water.

The third-party analysis is conducted along the following flow.

  • Sampling of ALPS treated water
  • Analysis at the Radioactive Material Analyses and Research Facility Laboratory-1 in the Okuma Analysis and Research Center
  • Reporting and publication of the analysis results to the government (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry)
