About this site

Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) has been worked on R&D about distribution and movement of radiocesium released by Fukushima-Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident, March 2011. And also JAEA has been struggled for assessment of exposure dose based on R&Ds above. Because the evacuation order is being lifted, it is required to arrange the results to answer the questions and anxieties of each evacuee to return home.

For this reason, the Collaborative Laboratories for Advanced Decommissioning Science (hereafter, “CLADS”) opened this website “Base Information Q&A site”. This site aimed to explain scientific information to answer the questions and anxieties of each person, so this site aggregates important results of R&Ds by JAEA and other institutes.

In this site, scientific information is arranged into several stages by detail to get information reflecting users' needs and comprehensibility. Each information is shown with explanation, figures, tables, pictures and also the basement data and its points of view. Each information has links to papers and websites referred in that article. In addition, several functions are prepared such as the keyword search and the glossary of important terms.

Notice; This English site is based on Japanese site. The titles of references in Japanese are translated into English when their official English titles are determined.
