On February 9, 2015, Iwaki City, Iwaki Chamber of Commerce and Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) agreed on the cooperation on the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (1F), Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, Inc. and the activities towards the environmental restoration of Iwaki City.

　Iwaki City and Iwaki Chamber of Commerce are making efforts for the reconstruction and restoration from the accident of 1F. In April 2015, the Fukushima Headquarter Office of JAEA will move to the Iwaki City. At this opportunity, three organizations intend to utilize the advantage of Iwaki City, that is, it is located near the Futaba district and also close to the Tokyo Metropolitan area. In addition, they will promote the industry-academia-government collaboration and human resource development utilizing the intellectual, human and material resources in the three organizations. Thereby, the three organizations will promote the cooperation in order to further accelerate the activities towards the decommissioning of 1F and the environmental restoration of Iwaki City.
