Fukushima Research Conference
About Fukushima Research Conference
About Fukushima Research Conference:
In the accident of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (1F), each of the three reactors, Units 1 to 3, experienced unique accident sequence to have the reactor core disrupted and the reactor pressure vessel breached. The decommissioning of these reactors should consist of extremely difficult tasks for coming decades. In order to properly manage the risks associated with such difficult tasks, and supply the cutting-edge software and hardware to the decommissioning front in timely manner, we have to promote the collaboration among the scientists and the engineers from wide variety of fields.
With this aim, CLADS in cooperation of specialists in each field will organize the international topical conferences and workshops. They will be held 5-6 times a year.
Examples of Conference Subjects
1.FP Analysis 2.Severe Accident Progression Analysis 3.Radiation Protection and Decontamination
4.Remote Technology 5.Project Management 6.Conservation of Concrete Structure
7.Corrosion Prediction and Mitigation 8.Inspection Technology 9.Repair Technology
10.Fuel Debris Characterization and Conditioning 11.Radioactive Waste Management 12.Criticality Control
- Planning FRC within the framework of the Platform for Basic Research for Fukushima Daiichi Decommissioning
- Any proposal for the Conference/Workshop by the academies and research institutes, which are involved in the MEXT program on the Center of World Intelligence Project for Nuclear S&T and Human Resource Development for Decommissioning, may be called as FRC, and organized in such a way as to get the cooperation of CLADS and the Platform.
